Pair of Exceptional Georgian Style Carved Walnut Urn Form Knife Boxes
About the Item
A very fine and rare pair of Urn Form knife boxes with telescoping lids and myriad cut-outs for utensils in the interior. Urn shapes with both lids and urns made in sections. The lids carved with leaves, artichoke finials, and reeded bands. The urns with coordinating leafy bases on fluted stems on circular raised feet. Mounted on square bases with bun feet. The lids telescope up and open to dark stained interiors with tiers of slots for the various sized knives and utensils.
Measures: H. closed 25", H. open 36 1/2", base 9 x 9"
Condition: The overall condition is very good with acceptable slight wear to base corners, a few nicks, light scratches and rubs however presenting exceptionally well.
