Cypress Beam Bench 3' Long Solid Wood + Corten Steel by Alabama Sawyer
About the Item
Our wood beam bench in cypress utilizes salvaged wood logs for a rustic seating experience. Narrow and backless, the simple lines express the natural texture of the end grain. The 15" x 15" beam is milled and finished to sit on a Corten steel base. With an emphasis and respect for natural materials, the beam bench brings primitive beauty and quiet luxury at a variety of lengths.
Get creative and use the beam bench as a coffee table or low console table. A low sheen, clear urethane finish adds an extra layer of protection to this already durable wood.
We can customize the length up to 8' long. Images are representational of the benches we have in stock. Each beam bench is slightly different.
Sprouts can form from the cut trunk of bald cypress trees as old as 60 years. Most live up to 600 years, but some individuals have survived 1,200 years.

Alabama Sawyer
At Alabama Sawyer, we design modern, environmentally sustainable products from fallen trees in the Birmingham, Alabama area. Since we began in 2014, we have diverted hundreds of logs from the landfill by transforming them into award-winning furniture and products for homes and businesses. Instead of letting trees waste in a landfill, we gather them from municipalities, businesses and homeowners to give them a second life. Urban wood has character. Urban wood has knots, burls and insect holes. It’s not "perfect" — it’s unique, one-of-kind and stunningly beautiful. The constraints and adaptations of growing in the urban forest creates character. We handle each log individually with an eye for the best cut. Then we mill it to show off its inner beauty. Our wood is better for the environment. Urban forests give us cleaner air and cooler temperatures. A living tree provides great value to the community — so can a repurposed one. Historically, felled city trees are taken to the landfill to decompose. Every year, Americans bury 4 billion board feet of usable hardwood trees in our city landfills. Using urban wood keeps them from releasing carbon back into the atmosphere where it contributes to climate change. Using urban wood in long-lasting furniture doesn't matter unless the design is right. Our furniture won Garden and Gun's overall Made in the South award in 2017. Our products are specified by top designers and architects nationwide and sold in cutting-edge design collections.
