Windsor Style Dining Chairs by Erik Ole Jørgensen for Tarm Stole, c. 1960s
By Tarm Stole, Erik Ole Jørgensen
Located in Deland, FL
Introducing a rare set of Windsor chairs designed by Erik Jørgensen for Tarm Stole Møbelfabrik. Constructed from solid Burmese teak and featuring a clever butcherblock seat design this splendid Danish-made set is in 100% original, vintage condition making it perfect for collectors and designers alike. Erik Jørgensen established his furniture upholstery workshop in 1954. Trained as a saddler and upholsterer, his understanding of materials, passion for furniture and knowledge of market trends propelled him to design a number of sofa collections and later chair and stool designs that are still in production today. With their sleek, ergonomically-minded wooden seats, bentwood hoop-shaped backrests and exceptional solid teak woodgrains this set a designers dream. Make them yours today before they're gone forever. ---Dimensions--- Width: 18.5 in / 46.99 cm Depth: 20 in / 50.8 cm Height: 36 in / 91.44 cm Seat Height: 17.5 in / 44.45 cm Condition Details: This gorgeous set of Windsor chairs is in 100% original, vintage condition and has aged to perfection! The solid teak composition is in excellent shape showing only minor surface scratches and nicks (the worst of which can be seen in the detail photos provided), but showing no gouges, stains or other damage whatsoever. As purists we left these chairs in their original condition but if you're interested in having these chairs refinished and restored please message us prior to checkout to discuss options and pricing. Mid-Century Danish "Banana" Sofa Upholstered in Velour, Denmark ca 1940s
Located in Utrecht, NL
This beautiful Danish three-seater sofa recalls the Art Deco style of the 1930s with the recognizable touch of Danish Modernism. Thanks to its elegantly curved shape, this type of sofa is often referred to as the “banana” style, which not only creates an intimate gathering place but also defines the look of the home: warm, cosy and never goes out of style. Apart from the visual appearance, the exquisite craftsmanship of this sofa echoes Art Deco as well. Over time, Danish Modern design produced in the last century has come to impart a sense of resistance to faddism. Its forms draw users back to the idea of design as intelligent problem-solving rather than vapid styling. Still, many of the well-known Danish architects felt the urge to try their hands at “Nordic Art Deco...
