Berlino Dining Table in Matt Wood
About the Item
A family of tables inspired by the Modern Movement, in particular the formal rigour of Mies van der Rohe and the free compositions of Gerrit T. Rietveld, in the layout of the right-angled thin metal blades which make up the base.
The table top, characterized by its chamfered edge detail which lightens even the largest sizes, is available in three wood veneers (eucaliptus frisé, wallnut and mahogany). The base is available in two bronze tones, which reflect the particular detail of the recessed underside panel, finished in our signature Casa Casati orange. Finishing in walnut and Eucaliptus frisè are available for the same price.
The Berlino table was one of the first pieces in the Casa Casati catalogue, and it instantly became a bestseller. It's designed by Irish architect Bosco Fair. The Berlino’s extremely versatile design is well suited to play with special effects and also to don more sober yet equally sophisticated attire.
The top in matt mahogany is discreetly lit by the natural red veins of its wood, making it a piece whose enticing surface begs to be stroked. The light-bronze base strongly contrasts with its top, and not only chromatically. Here was see effects of light and shadow, opacity and splendor, nature and technique. A piece of great impact.
