Regency Mahogany Three Pillar Dining Table
Located in Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire
A good Regency triple pillar dining table in figured mahogany, only 48” wide, handsome four splay pedestals with their original tops, the stems with 2 ebonised turnings matching the black ebony stringing in the sabre legs. The castors stamped with a crown & E S & P patent. Original catches in old lacquer. The blocks veneered in mahogany - unusually the bearers are screwed onto the blocks rather than dowelled which means the table can be easily disassembled and packed into a smaller crate...

Fine Georgian Extending Dining Table D Ends with Two Leaves, English, circa 1785
Located in Lincoln, Lincolnshire
This is a high quality English extending dining table made from hardwood, in the period of George III, during the late 18th century, circa 1785. This table will seat 10 people on account of its large width of over 54 inches plus the semi circular ends. It has two D-ends ( semi circular) each having four legs, the two outer ones being fixed and fluted and the two inside ones being gated, swinging out to support the leaves when required. There are two additional leaves. The tops and legs are solid hardwood, with all the legs being square tapered, ending in carved spade feet, with what look to be the original brass castors. The edges to the table top are horizontally reeded and the curved side under-frames are veneered. This is a very versatile dining table. The D-ends can be used separately as pier tables or joined together to form a circular table. The table can be easily extended, using either one or both leaves as required. When fully extended with the two leaves inserted the piece forms a large elegant dining table, capable of seating ten people, the sections clipping together with six brass clips. The color and patina of this table is superb, having a rich patina, only possible with over 200 years of repeated polishing. For similar 18th C. Extending dining tables see the book; British Antique Furniture by John Andrews, published by the Antique Collectors' Club. Overall this is a fine English 18thC Georgian dining table.

A Regency extending dining table by Morgan & Sanders, suppliers to Lord Nelson
Located in Lymington, Hampshire
This large mahogany imperial action dining table has rounded ends each housing the telescopic action that extends the table to varying lengths, three extra leaves and eight brass clips. It is supported on six turned tapering and reeded legs with brass caps and castors, each end with large brass handle engraved ‘Patent Morgan & Sanders Inventors & Manufacturers, 16 & 17 Catherine Street Strand London‘. English, circa 1815. Height: 28¾ in (73 cm) Length closed: 74in (188 cm) Extended 13ft 4in (406 cm) Width: 59½ in (151 cm) Literature: Nicholas A. Brawer, British Campaign Furniture – Elegance under Canvas, 1740-1914, New York, 2001, pp.192-193, pls.D50-D52 for a very similar dining table. Morgan & Sanders was established in 1800 by Thomas Morgan & Joseph Sanders, both of whom had worked for the cabinetmaker Thomas Butler at 13–14 Catherine Street, London. Initially, they produced campaign furniture, that is, furniture which could be easily knocked down and packed fairly flat, for the use of officers in military service. The Napoleonic War required an ever-expanding British Army and Navy, thus also increasing the demand for all types of campaign furniture, from collapsible beds...
