A 1968 limited edition color etching titled, Vortex, by British artist Stanley William Hayter (1901-1988). Presented behind a white mat and in a black wooden frame, the colorful etching depicts a whirling figural vortex encompassed by linear striations. The etching is numbered 22/50, titled to the lower center and signed to the lower right.
Stanley William Hayter was a printmaker and painter associated with Surrealism and Abstract Expressionism in the 1930s and 1940s. Hayter is regarded as one of the most significant printmakers of his time. He founded the acclaimed Atelier 17 studio in Paris.
