Anne Faure (born in 1878) Portraits of a Gentlaman, 1946 Signed and dated lower right Pastel on paper 40 x 31 cm, Original frame with glass 60 x 51 cm Anne Faure was born Anne Fuarez, May 21, 1878 and she exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1921 to 1956. She is best known for her 1940s pastel portraits. Most of them are socialites, including the portrait of Anne de Ruillé in Amazon costume, sold by Christie's in 2004.
