Signed and dated impressionist oil on canvas landscape by French painter Armand Guery. The work depicts a rural winter scene with snow covered haystacks to the left and the trees and snowy rooftops of the nearby village in the distance. Birds fly overhead, contrasting against the pale blue of the sky. Signature: Signed and dated 1906 lower right Dimensions: Framed: 24"x21" Unframed: 18"x15" Provenance: Private French collection Original artist's labels verso Painter, pastellist. Genre scenes, landscapes, landscapes with figures, waterscapes. Armand Guéry was a pupil of Auguste Rigon. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, winning the Prix de Raigecourt-Goyon in 1890, a third-class medal in 1891, a second-class medal in 1894 and a jury commendation in 1900 (Exposition Universelle). He painted mainly landscapes of the Champagne region and the Ile-de-France.
