Dan Goad Art
Dan Goad was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1952. He is a self-taught naturalist and artist who has been a close and fascinated student of ornithology and other wildlife since childhood. Goad calls birds nature's most eloquent expression, and his renderings are reminiscent of the orient, utilizing brilliant and unusual color combinations, fine draftsmanship and a stylized flatness in his work. Represented throughout the United States and 15 foreign countries, his prints, posters and original paintings have a universal appeal. In 1986, he was commissioned by the First Lady, Lady Nancy Reagan and the White House, along with celebrated American artists Andy Warhol and Jasper Johns, to paint a wooden Easter egg for the annual White House Easter Egg Hunt. It is now part of the permanent display in the Smithsonian Institution.
