Grigory Gluckmann Art
Grigory Gluckmann was born October 25, 1898, at the Lithuanian frontier. He was active in France. He was a Russian painter of nudes, typical scenes, engraver and illustrator. He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture until 1920, where he devoted himself mainly to drawing. Then he came to settle at Florence, and Paris, where he stayed for a long time. He loved to paint typical Parisian scenes of the nights of Montmartre, but it was for his nudes that amateurs sought him. By revealing sensuality through chiaroscuro, he often placed the nudes as bathers under tall foliage. He illustrated The Florentine Nights of H. Heine, Salvador Rosa de Hoffmann and Manon Lescaut of Abbot Prévost.
