Robert Silvers Art
American, b. 1968
Robert Silvers invented the Photomosaic® while he was still a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His career exploded when he was commissioned to create the 60th anniversary cover of “LIFE” magazine. Other notable commissions include portraits of Vice President Al Gore and H.M. King Hussein of Jordan. In 2001, the National Gallery in London selected Silvers’ portrait of Microsoft chairman Bill Gates for their “Painting of the Century” exhibit highlighting influential art of the 21st century. His work has also been exhibited in the New York Museum of Modern Art. His prints can be found in the collections of Disney, the Library of Congress, Lucasfilm Ltd., National Geographic, Newsweek, Paramount Pictures, and Ferrari, among others, as well as the permanent collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art. Meyerowitz first drew acclaim for his remarkable ability to capture subtle qualities of light with the 1978 publication of Cape Light, which went on to become a color photography classic. Joel Meyerowitz (born March 6, 1938) is a street photographer, and portrait and landscape photographer. He began photographing in color in 1962 and was an early advocate of the use of color during a time when there was significant resistance to the idea of color photography as serious art. In the early 1970s he taught the first color course at the Cooper Union in New York City where many of tod...

Large Vintage Photograph Polaroid Transfer Photo Print Policeman Smoking, Paris
By David Aschkenas
Located in Surfside, FL
Large scale print, 24 X 34 inches. Framed to 31 X 40. This was described as Polaroid transfer print. It has the feel of a Frisson print. It is hand signed in pencil and dated. It is done in a sepia color tone. The color might have possibly shifted a bit. They are moody atmospheric pieces. These are outside Paris, I believe at Versailles.
David Aschkenas is a self-taught photographer making fine art and freelance photography for the past 25 years. He has been the recipient of grants from the NEA and the Polaroid Corporation. He makes photographs for corporations and editorial clients around the world. Aschkenas has been a photographer in Pittsburgh for 30 years, specializing in editorial and fine art photography (he shot Richard Serra's Tilted Arc in the early 1980's) Inspired by Weegee, James Van Der Zee...
