About the Item
Rare and beautiful! Comfortable yet chic! This gown is 100% luxurious silk charmeuse, and was shown in the featured photo in an International Herald Tribune article written by Suzy Menkes. It is roller-printed, a technique of supreme artistry no longer in use since the adoption of laser printing. A vibrant, richly colored floral design, the printing was done by Frontline, a Swiss state-of-the-art textile company and maker of Hermes prints, based in Zurich but sadly no longer in existence.
From an '08 Barbara Tfank collection inspired by the 1930s screwball comedies of Carol Lombard, this comfortable, yet glamorous gown is fitted with an open V-neckline, a dolman sleeve, has a soft waist band, and displays a blouson back.
Great for entertaining at home, perfect for occasions out and about, this lively dress, with its loose-fitting bodice and soft, flowing skirt betrays an elegance both unique and timeless.

- Material Notes:Scattered floral charmeuse motif as if caught by breeze. Made in USA. Lining 100% silk. Closure a back zipper. Presented as part of Tfank's Spring '08 collection at The Carlyle. Bodice quite roomy.
- Condition:Alteration made by original designer. The back seam hip area near zipper was let out for a photo shoot and taken back in. This dress has never been owned.
