About the Item
A set with two vases, with a warm organic structure. Signed Ekeby designed by Greta Runeborg, Sweden mid-1900s.
Smaller signs of wear, one minimal/small dent/color loss on one vase.
Greta Runeborg-Tell (1911-1989), swedish artist. She studied at the High School of Art and Industry in Stockholm and at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. She started working for Ekenäs glass factory in Småland as a designer and after a short time became the factory's artistic director from 1942 to 1952. She has been a designer at Steninge Lervarufabrik 1934–1935, S:t Eriks Lervarufabriker in Uppsala from 1935–1937 and Upsala Ekeby 1937–1941. After that she had her own studio.
She participated in exhibitions of glass art at the Glass Museum in Växjö and at the National Museum in Stockholm. Among her public works is a free-standing sculpture in Ljungby. Runeborg-Tell is represented at the National Museum in Stockholm.
