David Leach Lowerdown Studio Pottery Celadon Glazed Bowl

About the Item

A very fine Lowerdown Pottery celadon glazed porcelain bowl by renowned potter David Leach OBE (British, 1911-2005) and dating from around 1987. David Leach, the son of the highly acclaimed potter Bernard Leach worked at the Leach Pottery under his father before starting his own pottery at Lowerdown. This very finely made bowl stands raised on a narrow round ring foot with a tall round body with a splayed top rim. The body of the bowl has finely cut patterning forming vertical raised ribs and the bowl has a green celadon glazed finish. Th bowl has an impressed LD artists monogram applied to the base. Provenance: the property of a Belgian collector and acquired by them from a private collection through the UK art market. In good condition.
