Thomas Lawrence became famous in his lifetime for his role during the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire during the First World War, earning him the nickname ‘Lawrence of Arabia’. He is best known for this work. He also translated some novels during his time, included ‘The Forest Giant’, originally written in French by Adrien Le Corbeau’, and ‘The Odyssey of Homer’, originally in Greek. Lawrence has been immortalised in the 1962 film ‘Lawrence of Arabia’, in which he is portrayed by Peter O’Toole. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper.
