About the Item
The Lady Wearing Jewels.
This vintage brooch features a Cameo that is hand carved in Sardonyx Shell (Conch shell) and depicts an elegant lady wearing a necklace and earrings. Her curls are upswept and she has a whimsical, Mona Lisa smile! Circa 1940s, it is thought to be Italian.
The setting is 9ct yellow gold with a wide rim and handmade, accentuated claws that encircle the cameo which adds unique detail to the piece.
The brooch is secured by a gold pin with a good hinge and a C clip and safety chain.
This brooch is large and impressive. It measures approximately 6cms x 5cms so it is very eye catching and it is in excellent, vintage condition.
