The dial is done in Sterling Silver and the printing is engraved out and filled with enamel, fired in a furnace at 1500 degrees Fahrenheit, polished, fired again and finally polished for the last time. This work is no longer done as it was to expensive and time consuming. The hands are also of the finest workmanship and these are the original hands and done in Blued Steel. This is done by heating the steel up to 640 degrees Fahrenheit and quickly quenching the hands. Lastly, you may be able to see that the case work on this watch features a remarkable detail. It has what is called the "hidden hinge." When the case is closed you cannot see the hinge. Only the worlds finest jewelers know how to make the "hidden hinge."
