Cloud Construction #3

2015

About the Item

Cloud Constructions This elegant and playful sculpture is kinetic (characterized by movement). The painted steel, vertical, sky-blue stalk creates the fulcrum or support for the horizontal element. The motion of the “weathervane” is created by the delicate balance of the paper- thin hammered aluminum clouds attached at the end of long brass and aluminum rods which create the counter-balance. As shown in the video the cloud formation not only rotates in a circular motion but a vertical one as well.

"Perspective in Orange" is a profound exploration of life's journey and the dynamic nature of perspective. Crafted from steel, then painted, this Constructivist style maquette (model) offers a visually striking representation of the transformative power of shifting viewpoints. The geometric lines that define the sculpture play a central role in conveying its message. As viewers encircle the work, they experience a fascinating interplay of disappearing and reappearing lines, shapes and forms. This clever use of perspective mirrors...
