Léon Barotte Art
Léon Barotte was a pupil of Henri Zuber, Albert Larteau and Edmond Petitjean. He began his career as a decorator, and then, on the advice of Eugène Corbin, devoted himself to painting. He exhibited at the Salons de Nancy and Remiremont until 1913 and, from 1912, at the Salon of French artists of which he became a member. Barotte also presented landscapes at the Salon des Indépendants between 1926 and 1930. In 1936, a retrospective of his works took place at the Galerie Agnès Thiébault. A place in Rosières-aux-Salines was named in his honor.
